A high DC voltage is applied to the detection electrode, and the discharge pulse generated by the difference in insulation resistance between the detection electrode (mandrel, earth roll, etc.) is detected, and pinholes in the substrate are detected. The detected discharge pulse is waveform-shaped and amplified, and an abnormality lamp is displayed and a contact output is generated. We can handle a wide range of applications, from pinhole detection in plastic cups using a small detection electrode to wide film applications using detection electrodes installed in series.
