PISCO Launches Ultra-Lightweight Resin Vacuum Pad Holder for Industrial Automation

Enhancing Robot Payload Efficiency with Durable, Lightweight Design
Nihon PISCO Co., Ltd. has introduced an ultra-lightweight resin vacuum pad holder designed to improve payload efficiency and reliability in robotic handling and pick-and-place applications. By significantly reducing component weight while maintaining durability, this new product supports higher-performance automation systems across various industries.
The vacuum pad holder weighs just 6.6 g, achieving approximately 75% weight reduction compared to conventional metal holders. This lightweight design allows robots to operate with greater payload margin, making it easier to install multiple vacuum pads without exceeding load limits—an important advantage in high-speed and multi-point handling systems.
Despite its reduced weight, the holder delivers excellent wear resistance and long-term durability. A specially selected resin material is combined with a polygonal anti-rotation structure (patent pending) to minimize rotational stress and reduce wear over extended use. This design helps maintain stable performance even in demanding production environments.
The holder supports a recommended lifting load of up to 1,000 g (horizontal lifting), covering a wide range of applications such as electronic components, packaging materials, and lightweight industrial parts. Two spring force options are available to suit different workpiece and process requirements:
- L type: 0.5–1.0 N
- H type: 1.0–2.0 N
For industries sensitive to material contamination, the holder can be supplied with “-S3” copper-free flow path specification, making it suitable for electronics, battery manufacturing, and other controlled environments. In addition, sealing materials such as HNBR or FKM are used to provide countermeasures against low-concentration ozone exposure.
The resin vacuum pad holder is compatible with a wide variety of tube sizes and connection types, enabling easy integration into existing vacuum and pneumatic systems.
With its balance of lightweight construction, durability, and environmental compatibility, PISCO’s resin vacuum pad holder is a practical solution for manufacturers seeking greater efficiency and reliability in modern automation.
